Polar Bear Tri Results
Petra got her wish for a ride down to WSMR thanks to the Aster/Tarr clan. It was well worth it for everyone involved as both Petra and Julie Aster competed and placed! Petra finished second in her age group with a time of 1:55. Julie grabbed not only third but also applause from everyone in the pool when she emerged at the 2:44 mark. Congratulations to both!

A 5K race in Antarctica
One of our members, Omar Marcillo, is currently at McMurdo station in Antarctica. They have a tradition there of running a 5K race on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. He writes:
"It was not as good as I expected my time was 30m16s, in the first part of the race I was flying, once i touched the ice, my throat was drier and drier so I ended almost walking. Anyway, the scenery was awesome running on frozen ocean, with glaciers around you, it was quite an experience..."
Hopefully he'll send us a picture.
