Spring Race Series, Race 1 Results

We had a great turnout of 25 participants for the first race of the spring race series this morning. Congratulations to young Audrey Napier for crossing the finish line a full four minutes ahead of the second place finisher. We won't give you so much of a head start next time!

Go Jan Go!

Congrats to Jan for a PR at the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in Phoenix this January. Her 3:42:12 was also good enough for 3rd place in her age group!

Updated Date for Battle of NM and TX Running Clubs

After a lot of feedback, the organizers pushed the race date ahead a day, avoiding Easter Sunday.

Let's go get 'em! I have a vision of a bunch of us traveling there and having a ball so put me down for the 10k and Julie down for the half. Maybe we can blast them with a bunch of XC runners in the 5k, too!

Spring Running Series 5ks

As a reminder, we will have 4 Spring Running Series races. These are the handicapped format wherein everyone has a roughly equal shot to finish first and the first 3 races are 5ks with the final race being a 10k worth double points.

The dates are:

January 29th
February 12th (Note Change!)
March 5th
March 26th

All events are planned to start at the EMRTC snake.

Rick Runs Races Rather Rapidly

Rick has been laying down some blistering times in recent races - fast enough to get mention in the Chieftain and on the NMT website:

Tech professor excels in ultramarathon

No mention of his sub-20 minute AGU 5k time, though. Keep it up Rick!
