Thank you for signing up for Race #1 (or all four races) of Socorro Striders and Riders’ first ever Virtual Run/Walk Series. We are thrilled to be supporting you in any goal you have set for yourself while continuing a sense of community in our fabulously active group of striders. And, of course, we are ALL lending a financial hand to some amazing local groups. Race #1-2 will benefit Socorro HS Cross Country. SSR has shattered the financial goal we were hoping to achieve and coach Beth Cadol has passed some words along to you, our gracious supporters:
“The Socorro High School Cross Country team would like to say a huge thank you to the Socorro running community for your generous support! We have raised more than enough to outfit the team in long- and short-sleeve Warrior gear for the upcoming season, in addition to being able to purchase handheld water bottles for training. Your support has also provided an important boost to morale during the latest period of uncertainty surrounding a competitive season. We look forward to representing Socorro, and thank you for your part in helping us reach our goals.”
Some helpful info about race weekend, Feb 20-21:
-Get out there anytime Saturday or Sunday and run, jog, walk, skip etc your way to 3.1 miles. Choose your favorite route! If you’re Socorro local and can’t think of a place to run, we’ll have a chalked course starting near the Snake statue next to EMRTC (on East Rd.) PLEASE wear masks and social distance per the rules of the city/state.
